Pharmacy software: a buying guide that protects your stock and your patients

In a pharmacy, money leaks in two places: expired medicine on the shelf, and stock differences nobody can explain. Patient safety leaks in a third: a medicine dispensed without noticing an allergy. The right software closes all three doors.

Batches and expiry dates

Ask for software that records every item by batch and expiry date from the moment it is received from the supplier, and shows you what is approaching expiry early enough to return or sell it. Record write-offs and damage with their reason, so you know the true size of the loss.

Dispensing safely

  • Record a customer's allergies once, and warn when dispensing a medicine that conflicts with them.
  • Follow repeat prescriptions and their refill dates.
  • A report of controlled medicines dispensed.

Sales, purchasing and stock counts

Checkout must be fast, with an 80 mm receipt and documented returns. Purchases are received against the supplier so stock rises automatically. A periodic stock count compares the physical count with the system and shows the differences item by item.

The reports a pharmacy owner needs

Daily and monthly sales, best-selling items, receipts by supplier and write-offs by reason. These reports tell you what to buy, where from, and where you are losing.

Permissions

The pharmacist, the assistant, the cashier and the stock keeper do not need the same permissions. Choose software that gives each role only what it needs; it reduces mistakes and protects your stock.

Your data and your customers' data

Bawabetna's program runs on the pharmacy's own computers, keeps the records encrypted with you, and works without internet so sales never stop. You can import items and customers from your previous software and try the program free with no time limit before subscribing.
